Michael E. Runda started his Ph.D. position in the Schmidt group. Originally from Salzburg, Austria, Michael graduated in 2019 from Graz University of Technology. With his engineer’s degree in hand, he decided to leave behind the mountains and to start his Ph.D. project on the structural and functional analysis of Rieske oxygenases involved in the biosynthesis of alkaloids here in Groningen.
