Funded by the recently awarded ERC Starting grant ‘ReCNNSTRCT’, we offer one PhD position dealing with the discovery of novel nitrogen-nitrogen bond forming enzymes (NNzymes) as new biocatalysts to access various N-N bond-containing compounds.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic PhD student with strong backgrounds in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology or closely related fields to join the group.

The position is funded for 4 years.

If you are interested, please apply via the University of Groningen website.

The application deadline is 15th of March 2023.

Postdoc Position in 'ReCNNSTRCT'

Funded by the recently awarded ERC Starting grant ‘ReCNNSTRCT’, we offer one Postdoc position dealing with the structural and mechanistic elucidation of nitrogen-nitrogen bond forming enzymes (NNzymes) along with their engineering toward non-natural reactions.

In the laboratory, we thereby combine bioinformatic analysis with enzyme biochemistry, structural biology, instrumental analysis, protein engineering and (bio)catalysis to elucidate diverse N-N bond-forming reaction chemistries.

The position is funded for 2.5 years.

If you are interested, please apply via the University of Groningen website.

The application deadline is 15th of March 2023.

2 PhD Positions in 'BiodeCCodiNNg'

Within the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) doctoral network project BIODECCODINNG (Decoding novel reaction chemistries in biocatalysis – Training Europe’s next visionaries for a sustainable future), we offer two PhD positions (DC1 and DC4) dealing with the elucidation of novel N-N bond forming enzymes and reactions.

The position of DC1 is in collaboration with Prof. Karl Gruber (University of Graz, Austria) and Prof. Dirk Tischler (Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany) an focuses on uncovering novel promiscuous N-N bond forming enzymes.

The position of DC4 is in collaboration with Prof. Karl Gruber (University of Graz, Austria) and Prof. Zvjezdana Findrik Blažević (University of Zagreb, Croatia) and focuses on the engineering N-N bond forming enzymes for novel reactions.

If you are interested, please apply via our project website.

The application deadline is the 31st of January 2023.
